WC-6/15/23 Command Reconnaisanse was one of the early U.S. Army ½-ton, 4×4 trucks built by Dodge during World War II (open-top, 4-door body with canvas roof and side curtains). It belonged to the same family as the WC-series light military trucks, which were precursors to the more common ¾-ton WC models. Vehicles were fitted with map tables, stowage for radios, and communication equipment; designed to act as a mobile command post / staff car in the field. Some carried a .30 cal or .50 cal machine gun on a pedestal mount
