Crowded city streets.... legal restrictions on overall length... the increased use of tractor-trailers... are some of the factors that are creating a wider demand for trucks of COE type.in May 1938, Ford introduced a new COE truck that gave to 134in chassis the same cargo space as conventional 157-inch chassis. In early 1939 production of COE trucks began in the Netherlands and some trucks were captured by Germans in 1940.
