Description
GAZ-66B (1966) is a Soviet and later Russian 4x4 all-road military truck produced on a GAZ-66 base for use with Air Assault Troops. Main Soviet transport aircraft of that period were An-8 and An-12 and due to size limits GAZ-66B got a collapsible canvas cab, removable doors and windscreen, telescopic steering wheel and tie-down points for aiding parachute dropping and landing. On the basis of GAZ-66B also were created tanker TZ-2-66D, radio and command truck R-142D, BM-21V MLRS with 9p125 launcher (12 tubes). Production was ceased when VVS got larger IL-76.
